If weight loss is on your New Year’s Resolutions list this year, here are three things to increase the likelihood of your success.
- Avoid changing everything or making unrealistic goals. Instead, like I told my friends at SHAPE Magazine, try “piggy-backing on existing habits—even if they’re not the best habits, it is still better than trying to reinvent everything.”
- When incorporating a new exercise routine into your 2018, keep in mind that the best exercise program is the one you will actually do. Create goals that you will achieve not only for a few weeks following the New Year, but that can become part of your ongoing lifestyle.
- Be kind to yourself along the way. If you miss a day at the gym or don’t eat as healthy as you’d like for a meal or two, stay optimistic, don’t let that derail your goal. Getting a new routine up and running takes time and can be challenging, but totally possible! —And remember, we are here to support you along your new path in 2018!
